Sunday 10th September

14:14: So I forgot to write for two days, but that's okay because I'm doing it now. On the 8th at the gym we did shoulders and triceps. Here's what I did: - Reverse Fly Machine (shoulders and triceps) 5kg 3 x 10 - Shoulder Press (shoulders and triceps) 4kg 3 x 10 - Tricep pull downs (shoulders and triceps) 7.5kg 3 x 10 - Lateral raises (shoulders) 4kg 3 x 10 - Tricep try downs (triceps) 2.5kg 3 x 10 I can't remember much about it if I'm honest. I need to be more consistent with writing on here or I need to make notes when I'm there and then write them up later. Anyway, on the night of the 8th/morning of the 9th I slept for 9hrs 28min, with 2h47m deep sleep, 6h12m light sleep and apparently I was awake for 29m. I woke up feeling very tired and as if I'd barely slept at all, which was very frustrating considering how well I've been doing. I think it's because of how hot it was that night, but we'll see. In the evening Joe and I walked around the U...

Friday 8th September

15:08: Last night I did the close with Shannon and despite it being very dead and boring I still reached over 10k steps for the day. Unfortunately because I work past 12 it's difficult for me to see what steps were on which day, but I'm not really concerned about this. After we finished we came back home and watched an episode of Merlin so I didn't sleep until late. I slept from 02:39-10:27, but what's interesting is that even though I slept for 7hrs 48 minutes I only had 2hrs 20 minutes of deep sleep, which means that even though I slept for longer than I did the past two nights, I didn't sleep as well. I think this is because it was very hot and both Joe and Shannon interacted with me/tried to wake me up this morning. Apparently I was also awake at certain points in the night for a total of 16 minutes, but I don't remember this so I don't know if my watch was wrong or if I woke up and just can't remember. For breakfast I had an apple again and a slice...

Thursday 7th September 2023

I was worried last night that I wouldn't sleep well but to my surprise I did! According to my watch I slept for 7 hours and 16 minutes. 3 hours and 8 minutes were deep sleep and 3 hours 58 minutes were light sleep. I didn't feel tired at all when I woke up so I managed to stick to the plan and go swimming at 8am. Before I went I ate an apple but nothing else because I didn't want to make myself feel sick. Unfortunately I left some of my stuff at home so I had to run back and missed some of the swim but it didn't really matter because I stayed in the pool for longer than the last time I went swimming and had a total of 27 minutes active swimming, whereas last time I only swam for 20. I had a max heart rate of 167bpm, minimum 87bpm and my average was 120bpm. This was better than last time as my max heart rate was 168bpm, minimum 75bpm and my average was 134bpm. I don't know if this means I've improved or just that the way I swam was different or something, but I...

It begins...

So I've decided to get into fitness and today is the day I decided to do it properly. I joined the gym a few days ago so I want to document my fitness journey in a way that I can look back on. With my ADHD there was no way I was going to invest in anything physical like a notebook so I've decided to make myself a blog/database to help. I'm going to use MyFitness to track my eating and I plan to hit the gym four times a week and swim. I hope I can stick to it because with third year coming up I know it will be difficult but I'm very excited to see how it turns out. So far I've been to the gym three times. The first time was just to have a go so I didn't really do much. For that reason I'm considering the second time as day one and going from there. Day 1: Legs: - Bulgarian Split Squats 3 x 10 - Leg Extensions 15kg 3 x 10 Shoulders: - Shoulder Shrugs 8kg 3 x 10 - Unilateral raises 3kg 3 x 10 Triceps - Pull downs 7.5kg 3 x 10 - Over head pulls/extensions 2.5kg ...
